Neil Coles
Neil Coles

Neil has been around the sewing trade since 1976, joining his fathers business in Leicester and is an expert on technical issues for all makes and model of sewing machine. He is the 'CEO' of the business, and as well as taking care of the technical side on sewing and software acts as Managing and Financial Director of the business. He also looks after the education customers providing support in the field to schools, Universities and colleges all over the East Midlands, and co-ordinates the 3 exhibitions at the NEC.

He helps out in the shop as well, so you will often see him around.

Rosemary Coles

Rosemary Coles

They say that behind every successful man there is a a great woman, and this is certainly the case with Rosemary!

As well as keeping her man and their siblings fed and watered, she takes care of the day to day running of the shop, and training centre, as well as writing the newsletters, course brochures and adverts!

To relax she swims..... and sews of course! She has a Designer Diamond

Huskylock 936 overlocker and 4D Professional software.

Lynn Vale
Lynn Vale

Lynn has been sewing for as long as she can remember. Lynn teaches and is currently full time in the shop. She owns a Designer Diamond.

Sandra Hardy
Sandra Hardy

Sandra takes care of the mail order side of the business, 3 days per week. You may well speak to her if you have a query with your order. She owns a Designer SE, and a Huskylock 905 overlocker, as well as the 4D Professional software.

"I’ve always been a ‘Craft’ person – Knitting/Sewing/Painting/Drawing etc – made clothes for daughter (following in Mums footsteps – She made Wedding dresses) Walked into H.V.Studio 6 years ago and purchased a Lily 555 and never looked back – sewing and gardening fight for top slot in my hobbies."

Helen Radford

Helen Radford

Helen is another customer turned staff member. She owns a Platinum Plus embroidery machine and 3D embroidery software. She has become a software expert and loves using it in quilting and other sewing disciplines. Helen worked at the main Nottingham Post Office before joining us, and has a wealth of information on postal systems as well as sewing! She owns a Platinum 955E

Natalie Dawson

Natalie Dawson

Natalie joined us whilst still at school, and is now on a textiles course at Nottingham Trent University, but works at weekends and during the holidays. She is popular with staff and customers alike, and is our in house model!

Lee Bentley

Lee Bentley - Service Engineer

Lee joined us in September 2009 as an apprentice sewing machine engineer. Under Neil's guidance he is becoming very dextrous with all makes of machines, but is especially good with the Designer range of machines. From Neil's point of view it is nice to have another bloke about the place to even up the numbers a little, and to be able to talk about football and cricket!

Liz Hanbury
Liz Hanbury

Liz looks after our software and some creative courses. She inspires us all with her creative zest!

"Liz has been sewing since she was a young child. A fanatical recycler she likes to make new from old.
She makes everything from knickers to elaborate embroidered quilts, and is passionate about the software". She owns 2 Designer 1's a Designer SE and a Megaquilter with frame, plus 4D Professional software,so is a real expert on our products, and has run the ever successful latte quilt class for some years now. Liz has just added a Designer Diamond to her collection.

 

Jill Dean -Soft Furnishings

Jill has been teaching at Husqvarna Studio for over 7 years.Initially on behalf of People's College, but exclusively for the Studio for the last 2 years. Jill enjoys making all kinds of items for the home including creative stitching. She teaches students of all abilities, whether just learning to measure up for a curtain to complex swags and tails!

Lesley Hardwick - Quilting

Lesley Hardwick is a self taught textile artist who has been sewing for more years than she cares to admit. Her first love is quilting, (she won a 1st at the Great North Quilt show in 2007)
although she has at some point tackled almost everything going, and she loves nothing better than a challenge.
Lesley has a wide range of classes to share with you and all her samples can be viewed in the Studio or on our website.

Erica Thomson - Overlockers and Knitting machines

Erica Thomson for as long as Erica can remember, she has enjoyed using her 3 machines - sewing, knitting and overlocker to make clothes and soft furnishings. Erica enjoys many other crafts and in particular, combining different crafts. She has published her own books and patterns. This year Erica is introducing two new classes for owners of knitting machines!

Gilli Theokritoff - Quilting

Gilli Theokritoff

NEW TUTOR Gilli Theokritoff is an experienced quilter and teacher and has won awards for her contemporary quilts. She loves traditional piecing too and is keen to encourage new quilters with her lively and engaging classes. Gilli started her career as a shoe designer, moved into knitwear, designing for exclusive London stores and later for yarn companies such as Rowan. Eventually she discovered her true passion, patchwork, while bringing up her children. (They are very handy with a sewing machine too!) She now teaches around the country and occasionally exhibits her work. She has been invited to represent our local Quilters Guild region in an exhibition for emerging talent, called “In the Spotlight” at this year’s Festival of Quilts in August.

Sue Atkinson - Quilting

Sue Atkinson has two passions in her life, her family and patchwork. She has taught needlework workshops for over twenty years and all over the country. Sue’s workshops are designed for the absolute beginner, those with some experience and even those with lots of experience. But be warned, patchwork and quilting can become very addictive!

Kathleen Laurel Sage - Textile Artist

Kathleen Laurel Sage Kathleen is a freelance textile artist, designer and enthusiastic embroiderer. Her work ranges from conventional items through relief to exciting three dimensional pieces. Kathleen produces a wide range of embroidered structures which include floral vases and fashion accessories in the form of bags and unique jewellery.

Jane Davies - Textile Artist

Jane Davies is a textile artist. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and at shows including Festival of Quilts at the NEC. Jane’s workshops explore techniques rich in variety, texture and colour. Jane will share with you her examples of embroidered and appliquéd textiles and will encourage you to use them for your own inspiration.
